Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Install: A Surprisingly Effective Upgrade

I recently installed the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler on my computer and was really surprised with the difference in default settings compared to the stock cooler. The new cooler performed remarkably well, even when overclocking my CPU.

To test its performance, I overclocked my CPU to 4.4 GHz (stock is 3.5-3.9 GHz) while running the fans at only 950 RPM. The temperatures barely went up to 71°C, which led me to believe that I might even be able to push it to 4.5 GHz with higher RPM settings.

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler spins at a relatively low 750 RPM, yet it still manages to keep temperatures under control. In fact, during my stress test, the maximum temperature never exceeded 80°C depending on the core.

In comparison, the Intel stock cooler I was previously using had idle temperatures around 30-32°C and stress test temperatures ranging from 74-80°C depending on the core. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler, on the other hand, kept my CPU at a comfortable temperature of 24-26°C when idle and 45-51°C during stress testing.

One thing to note is that the cooler may require an upgrade kit for compatibility with other cooling products. However, it's worth mentioning that Cooler Master's air and all-in-one liquid coolers are already compatible with AMD Ryzen AM4 brackets right out of the box.

To conduct my tests, I used CPU-Z stress test to keep my processor at 100% load and HWMonitor to track the temperatures. I also removed the case side panel and brought the room temperature down to 24°C using an air conditioner to ensure optimal testing conditions.

I applied the included thermal paste when installing the new cooler, which was a relatively straightforward process. Overall, I'm impressed with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler's performance and would definitely recommend it as a worthwhile upgrade for anyone looking to improve their computer's cooling capabilities.
